Listn already had the industry expertise, campaign data and partnerships to earn attention in music tech. My role was to translate that credibility into a social presence people would actually stop for.
Through a new organic content strategy across LinkedIn and Instagram, I shifted the brand away from simply publishing updates and toward opinionated, data-backed storytelling designed for artists, labels and music industry professionals.

Overview
Listn is a music-tech platform built around bringing greater transparency and measurable performance data to music promotion.
The challenge was that the strength of the product and the expertise behind it weren't translating clearly enough through social media.
There was an opportunity to give Listn a much stronger point of view, build consistency between its visual identity and messaging, and turn the company's own data, experience and industry knowledge into content that could establish authority rather than simply announce what the company was doing.
The goal was to make the social presence feel like it belonged to people who genuinely understood the music industry from the inside.
Objectives
Increase Organic Visibility: Expand Listn's reach beyond its existing followers and make the brand discoverable to new audiences within music and music tech.
Establish Industry Authority: Use campaign results, opinions and real industry knowledge to position Listn as a credible source rather than another promotional platform.
Build a Recognisable Brand Voice: Develop a confident, straightforward tone capable of carrying educational content, industry commentary, company updates and case studies without losing personality.
Turn Data into Content: Transform Listn's campaign insights and results into stories that artists, labels and industry professionals could immediately understand.
Create Sustainable Organic Growth: Build a repeatable content system capable of growing awareness and engagement without relying on paid distribution.
What I Delivered
1. Social Media Strategy
I developed Listn's organic content strategy across LinkedIn and Instagram, establishing what the brand should talk about, how it should communicate and which formats were most likely to generate meaningful attention.
Rather than building the strategy around constant product promotion, I focused the content around Listn's strongest competitive advantage: what the company actually knows about music promotion.
The strategy combined:
Data-driven industry insights and campaign results
Contrarian takes addressing assumptions within music marketing
Case studies demonstrating tangible outcomes
Educational content for artists and industry professionals
Partnerships, company developments and event content
People-focused storytelling that made the company itself more recognisable
This gave Listn a broader editorial identity while keeping every topic connected to its commercial positioning.
2. Content Creation & Creative Direction
I planned and produced content across Instagram and LinkedIn, including static graphics, educational posts, carousels, campaign stories, partnership announcements and event-related content.
Visually, the content moved toward bold statements, cleaner information hierarchy and stronger hooks that could communicate the central idea before asking someone to read further.
Instead of treating design as decoration, the creative direction was built around making industry information easier and faster to consume.
Content such as “Still buying into these lies?” demonstrated how stronger hooks paired with substantive information could attract attention beyond Listn's existing follower base.
3. Copywriting & Brand Voice
One of the most important parts of the project was refining how Listn sounded online.
I developed copy that was confident, informed and willing to have an opinion, while avoiding the generic corporate language that tends to make B2B social content disappear into the wallpaper.
Campaign data became stories.
Industry observations became conversations.
Company developments became opportunities to show the expertise and people behind the platform.
The resulting voice allowed Listn to communicate as an industry insider rather than a company trying to convince people that it was one.
4. Thought Leadership & Brand Positioning
The content strategy deliberately moved beyond product-led communication.
Case studies, campaign performance, industry misconceptions and data-backed observations gave Listn opportunities to demonstrate expertise before asking audiences to care about the platform itself.
This approach proved particularly effective during the reporting period, with data-driven posts, case studies and stronger opinion-led content consistently outperforming generic visual content.
On Instagram, much of the resulting visibility came from non-followers, showing that the content was beginning to travel beyond the existing community and function as an organic discovery channel.

5. Performance Analysis & Optimization
Content performance was monitored across both platforms and translated into practical recommendations for the following content cycle.
Rather than reporting numbers in isolation, I analysed which topics, hooks and formats were responsible for growth.
The performance data showed a clear pattern: audiences responded most strongly to real data stories, case studies, bold visual statements and industry perspectives with an actual point of view.
Those insights then informed the next stage of the strategy.
Key Results
The clearest impact appeared on LinkedIn, where the new organic strategy produced significant month-over-month growth within the September reporting period.
33× More Visibility
LinkedIn impressions increased by approximately 33× month over month, reaching 7,817 impressions during the reporting period.
Nearly 31× More Engagement
Overall LinkedIn engagement increased by almost 31×, driven by reactions, conversations and reposts around the new content direction.
More Than 4× Faster Follower Growth
Follower growth accelerated to more than 4× the previous month's rate, with 57 new followers joining the audience during the month.
100% Organic
The growth was achieved without sponsored follower acquisition, demonstrating that the increase came from content, positioning and organic distribution rather than paid amplification.
Reaching Beyond the Existing Audience
Instagram content increasingly reached non-followers, particularly through data-driven stories, case studies, bold educational posts and content audiences were willing to share privately or repost.
The strategy wasn't simply generating larger numbers. It was making Listn discoverable to the right people.
The Impact
Within a short engagement, Listn's social channels began shifting from passive company feeds into an actual publishing platform for the brand's industry expertise.
The strongest-performing content revealed exactly where Listn had an advantage: real campaign data combined with people who understood what those numbers meant.
Once that expertise was translated into sharper hooks, clearer storytelling and a recognisable visual and verbal identity, organic distribution followed.
The result was a social presence capable of reaching new audiences, generating substantially more interaction and positioning Listn as an informed voice within music tech rather than another company contributing to the industry's noise.
Sometimes the audience doesn't need more content.
It needs a reason to listen.
